That field in a standard Progressive lens is used for focusing in the distance, and certain occupations such as pilots, technicians, repairmen, and some recreational activities require close focus in that part of the lens. 3 Zone is made with an additional vision field in the upper zone of the lens, which offers the possibility of focusing with the upper part at a distance of 60 cm to 1 m.
